take it from me, don't go on long distance, big time changes (18 hours) and not plan for a week for adjustment. it will be a waste of time with young kids because you'll spend most of your trip working around jet lag.
its been almost 6 days since we've been in singapore... jet lag is different with kids, i know this, i know this. i also don't believe in rushing them, making them overtired and forcing it to happen fast. little immune systems, long travel times, i don't like doing that. nobody has gotten sick (yes!) yet, and despite the midnight and 3 am wake ups every day, tonight's 6/7 pm bedtime is making me cross my fingers and hope to open my eyes for good when there's birds chirping.
things i've loved about being home lately: the humidity, the smell of our house, hawkers, public transport, the green braided fences that if you lived in singapore you know what i'm talking about, fresh fruit juice stands, durian (!), food and food, and more food.
